FAQ

  • What is WMU?

Founded in 1888, WMU is a missions organization that has educated and involved generations upon generations in Christian missions. Our purpose—to challenge Christian believers to understand and be radically involved in the mission of God—is accomplished through our age-level missions organizations, hands-on missions opportunities, and additional resources produced by WMU.

The main purpose of WMU is to educate and involve preschoolers, children, students, and adults in the cause of Christian missions. WMU supports the following organizations through age-appropriate magazines and/or products:

    Women on Mission—for women

Adults on Mission—for men and women

    myMISSION—for collegiate and young women

    Acteens—for girls grades 7–12

    Challengers—for boys grades 7–12

Youth on Mission—for boys and girls grades 7–12

Girls in Action—for girls grades 1–6

  • Who is SBA WMU?

We are a mission partner/arm of the Saluda Baptist Association. We are also affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention WMU, as well as the National WMU. We join our hearts and hands to engage women of all ages in mission education and mission involvement.

We have many opportunities available for our churches to participate in missions from an Acts 1:8 approach: local, state, national and international.

Your associational WMU director is Pam Creamer, pjcreamer@yahoo.com. We also have e-network specialists, as well as, age specific consultants ready to assist you with information for each organization and, if needed, how to begin an organization in your church.

  • How does WMU help the church?

WMU is a mission organization in your local church that assists in the advancement of mission education and mission involvement among all members of your church, especially women and children.

  • Does my church have WMU?

Each church has an e-network specialist assigned to their church. Your

specialist can assist you with connecting to the WMU leader in your church or connecting you with a consultant to begin a WMU organization of any

    kind.

  • How do I get invloved?

Your first step is to talk to your church leadership or church WMU director.

If your church does not have a WMU or Women’s Leader, contact our WMU Leadership Team for help in connecting personally or beginning an organization.
