Pursuing A Partnership

BRN Website

Pennsylvania/

South Jersey

The Saluda Baptist Association has joined with the Baptist Resource Network of Pennsylvania/South Jersey to form church-to-church partnerships.

During our recent vision trip to the Pittsburgh area, we met with the following pastors and church leaders. These videos and information sheets are for the churches that are willing to receive mission partners.

Once your church has decided who you would like to partner with, please let us know at the Association office. Our missions coordinator is willing to assist you if needed.

The Story

  • Praying for this Partnership:

    Pray for:

    • the discernment of the leaders and administrators gathering and sharing the needs for this partnership.

    • wisdom in the decisions of when the partnerships begin, how the needs can be met, and who is the best fit between the church needs in the BNF and those that can meet the needs in the SBA.

    • that the Holy Spirit continues to move for the hearts that will be touched by this effort... encouragement in the ones being sent and openness in the ones that will receive, in PA/SJ and in SC.
  • How it Began:

    Prayer and Planning-

Thank you to all of those that helped discuss, plan, and share the resources, and information to get this started.

  • Vision Trip 2023:

Vision Trip planned for April 24-28, 2023

9 people representing 5 SBA churches took a bus and visited a list of churches in the BRN of PA/SJ.

    April 24               Travel day

April 25-27         Visiting churches in the Pittsburgh area

    April 28               Travel home

    Thank you, prayers.

Everyone fared well on the trip and brought back needs that we are able to meet.

  • Meeting:

After returning from the trip, resting, and praying, the information gathered about the needs of the churches and the pastors passionate about taking care of these areas was compiled to be shared. It was first presented at the Ministers' Meeting in June of 2023 and will be shared at the next Executive meeting. A booklet has been printed with the notes, photos, Qr codes/ directions to see videos, and additional information about the first 11 churches interviewed for church-to-church partnerships. Check back in the coming weeks for more updates.

Ways To Partner

  • Pray:

Pray specifically for the church, Pastor, staff, local ministry, and community.

  • Notes:

Write personal note cards and/or letters to the staff encouraging them as they follow God’s leadership.

  • Calls/ Video Calls:

Zoom calls on a regular basis.  These calls can be between your staff and the staff of the church you choose to encourage.  Calls can also be during your worship services to introduce and inform your congregation of the ministry and ministry needs.

  • Trips:

Work with your partner church to plan yearly trips to PA/SJ.  The needs are numerous.  You can plan trips based on the skills, talents and gifts of your congregation.  Many of the PA/SJ churches also want to bring teams to SC to assist in Kingdom growth here.
