Saluda Baptist Association WMU Executive Leadership
Dr. Lydia Moyer, Director
It is incredible that COVID-19 – and all that comes with it – is still with us, most notably in a new variant form. Even so, the Lord has opened more opportunities in technology for Christians to continue to spread the gospel! More pastors live stream their sermons; more counselors offer virtual sessions, more teachers offer virtual lessons – including Bible Study; State WMU has met virtually, and SBA WMU has offered virtual training for our churches as well. WMU’s continued theme, “Relentless,” is perfect for the time we are in. A relentless person will crave the end-result more intensely than the work to get there. Christ is our perfect example of relentless. Christ first relentlessly pursued us, and we, as Christ followers, are to be like Him in the mission field: in relentless pursuit of our Lord and of the ones He loves. We are to pursue Him, and His will, in everything we do. In this pursuit, we are to know Him, and to seek to live and love like Him. “But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.” Hebrews 10:39
The Saluda Baptist Association WMU Mission states that we will “assist all churches in their mission’s education and missions support activities.” We will strive to meet the goal of that statement through missions support, training events, inspirational events, and consulting personally with our churches and leaders. The WMU of SBA offers a variety of mission opportunities for church-wide involvement, and it is my continued hope that all churches within our SBA will respond and join in what the Lord is doing in our Association, for “we are laborers together with God.” (1 Corinthians 3:9 KJV)
I am blessed and amazed as I watch the Lord work among and through WMU in our association – especially in this difficult season. The gospel of Jesus will continue to spread as we are relentless in our pursuit to help others know and grow in Christ.

My husband and I are caretakers for his brother, a stroke victim. Thank you for all you do to make my job easier.

Awone Rector, Administrative Assistant
As I think about the continuing theme “Relentless,” for the WMU year, it brings to mind how we should be relentless in our pursuit to see where God is at work and where he needs us to join him. As Administrative Assistant, I want God to use me to assist the SBA WMU Director in being able to provide her with the information from our meetings so that she and all the leadership team will be better able to serve our Savior. My first passion is to serve my Lord, and Savior and have him first in my life. Other passions that come very close behind is being a Godly wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to all those that are in my life or that God brings into my life. As we work together this year, please be in prayer for all of us to be doing the will of God and working to better serve him as we do WMU work on missions.
