Purpose In fulfilling our SBA WMU Mission Statement “to assist all churches in the association in their missions education and missions support activities” and our SBA WMU Vision “to challenge Christian believers to follow the example of Christ, step into the world around them, cultivate relationships, and create opportunities to demonstrate the love of Jesus” the WMU would like to provide assistance for Community Outreach and Mission opportunities that the Lord opens for our churches. The funds available are made possible because of the contributions of our Association churches through the WMU Fall Meeting offering. The amount available will depend on the gifts actually received. Process WMU Community Outreach/Missions Grant Application may be secured from the WMU Yearbook, from Associational Office or off the website WMU page. Applications may be submitted to the office of the Association by mail or email by June 1st of each year, to be awarded in January following. Applications will be reviewed by the WMU Leadership Team for approval of allocation in October. Requirements for receiving funds:
Applications needs to be filled out with details of project and returned to the SBA office June 1st each year.
Submit a simple budget of anticipated expense.
Projects can only be funded at 80% by assistance program funds. The church needs to fund at least 20% of the project from other sources or church budget.
The request must be used to support the SBA WMU Mission/Vision/Objectives: Nurtures a mission environment; Provides mission awareness and involvement; Participation in fulfilling the Great Commission; Creating opportunities to show the love of Jesus; Outreach to the Community (stepping into the world around us).
Reporting Each Church using SBA WMU Community Outreach/Missions Grant will be required to submit an evaluation outlining how the funds were used. These reports should be submitted within 30 days of the completion of the project for which the funds were requested. All evaluation forms should be in our office no later than December 31st of each year.
